Name - Gerald Joseph Mulligan (1927 – 1996) |
| Instrument - Baritone Saxophone | |
| Overview Gerry Mulligan was another member of the West Coast Jazz style. His light, melodic improvisation seemed uncharacteristic when coming out of a baritone saxophone. His first recognition came as a staff arranger for Gene Krupa’s Big Band. His reputation as a soloist came to the forefront with his playing on the Miles Davis album “Birth of the Cool”. |
