	Overview Cobain's interest in his youth included groups like the Beatles and the Monkees but later switched to hard rock groups like Kiss and Black Sabbath. He started experimenting with his first guitar at age 14 and learned the tricks of the trade as a roadie. Cobain and his group Nirvana gained fame with their second album, Nevermind. Although the big money was in the concert arenas, Cobain preferred to play at small nightclubs.
