Overview
Kool and the Gang were one of the most influential R&B Funk bands of the 70's and 80's. Previous names of the band included the Jazziacs and the Soul Town Band. Their combination of warm vocals, rhythmic grooves and spirited horn lines helped them weather the disco storm and emerge in the mid 80's with a number of top ten hits.
