Many of the tools that I use for connecting music history and society are presented in a multimedia format. Feel free to modifiy them to suite your particular curricular goals. All the powerpoint presentations are made with Windows Powerpoint 2000. These files are zipped, so you will have to unzip them into a seperate file before trying to use them. If you have a specific presentation need, email me and I will try to set something up for you. Please feel free to send me feedback on these materials as they are for all who belong to The Radio Hour family.

Powerpoint Presentations
These presentations are used at specific points of the curriculum. The era introductions should by used at the beginning of each unit and again before testing as a review. These presentations have the same Stylistic Elements and Historical Events as the workbook. The Harmonica and Open House presentations should be reviewed by the teacher before being shown because you may want to modify the presentations to fit your classroom plan.

Ken Burns - DVD Connections

These powerpoint presentations cue specific events in the Ken Burns PBS Series Jazz: The Story of America's Music DVD series. The reason I use this set of presentations is because even though the facts presented are true they may not be suitable for all grade levels. Only you can make that decision. For those who are looking for specific connections to The Radio Hour curriculum, all you have to do is put your DVD into your computer and click on the links in the powerpoint presentation to bring up the described performance, Artist, or interview.
